Challenge:

A start up in North America, but using product/technology already established in Britain – this product line is an all-natural, chem-free cleaning solution for carpet and upholstery cleaning. Priced higher than traditional chemical cleaners. Name had to bilingual.

Process:

Develop a brand name, bilingual and defining the product, so PROfessional-PURe. Then design a clean, modern logo combined with a colour palette that was high-end – two tone silver.

Packaging design reflected the ‘traditional’ green used everywhere to define a non-chem product, with an image to define the use on fabrics/carpeting.

Implementation:

As this was a new product, we developed a sample kit which was sent to or given to commercial businesses like cleaners, carpet retailers, hotels, and maintenance managers at hospitals, care facilities, institutions, and also to some larger health food retailers. We sourced contact lists.

Being a start up, budget was a concern, so initially we produced smaller quantities using the latest digital printing, and then once cash flow improves; larger print runs will be less expensive using non-digital printing.

Bonus:

The carpeting and high-end furniture retailers liked the sample kit so much, they bought them to give as a “value-added” promo to consumers when they purchased.
